I'm on the war path!

Yes, there's no avoiding it now. No more denial. As I sat typing my paper today, what did I see out of the corner of my eye? Yes, you can probably guess. An evil little furry thing strolling nonchalantly across the floor of my lounge! After finally getting a hold of myself and overcoming the skin-crawling urge to scream (which I did), I promptly went to the nearest hardware store and bought traps and poison! DIE! Heartless, you say? That's what I thought when I saw roaches, snails and mice being dealt with in my parents house (not that we were overrun of course, but on occasion...) but now that it's my own, OUT I say! IGHRRR!!!! I have already wounded 2 fingers slightly in trap construction. But it's a small price to pay to have my house back to myself.

ORKNEY

This weekend we went up to the Ornkey Islands for the wedding of my friend Sarah Rowe to Matthew Finn. It was gorgeous! And so full of life, full of God. It's an incredible thing to witness two lives, so focussed on following Jesus, unite to follow Him together. Here's some pictures to show you what Orkney's like:

The Ring of Brodgar... older than the pyramids...

A beach on Orkney

Lots of amasing food, including haggis, fry-ups, and Pollack (fish) that we caught straight from the sea (well, I didn't catch it, Ben did, but I got to taste it!)... lots of great dancing (ceilidhs), I swam in the FREEZING North sea, lots of great conversations (ranging from the relevance of marriage in a postmodern society to whether or not there's a God), and even played a bit of footie... I am not very good but I have a slightly vicious side...
Sarah and Matthew are staying with us tomorrow night (yippee!!) as they have to fly through Edinburgh to get to Africa for their 5 week honeymoon doing charity work in Kenya. How cool is that.

GO SEE THIS SITE.

I was going to post a few pictures of my Uncle Matt's photography, but he's got his own site and it's way better than mine... plus I'd probably be breaking copyright or whatever if I posted them... www.thedigitaltrekker.com is Matt's site, he's an excellent photographer and lives in Kashmir, India. He's had photos on the covers of photography magazines, on news websites, etc.... You'll love it.

Today I had my friend Lydia Martin over for dinner. She's 11 and lives just across my back garden and sometimes we talk back and forth from my kitchen window to her bedroom window. She wants to be a film actress someday, and is probably confident enough to take over the world singlehandedly. It's funny, although I'm 23 and she's 11, she's so cool that I keep thinking "woah, I can't believe you want to be my friend!" She's a Lord of the Rings fan as well, and has a cat named Gandalf (and yes, he's gray).

Tomorrow Tim and I are driving up to Orkney with some friends for the wedding of our friends, Matthew Finn and Sarah Rowe (soon-to-be-Finn!). I can't wait. I'm singing a song while they sign the register... a capella! Nervous? Me? Surely not... (?!?!)

Ooooh! Tim just phoned, leaving work, and said "ya wanna go for a movie?" so I'm going to meet him at the cinema to watch "Inside Man" with Denzel... anyone else seen it? You like?
